  I've visited other gem mines but Gem Valley beats them all. I came home with more interesting stones than from all the other mines combined. The very friendly staff is also quite knowledgeable. I learned how to recognize certain gems/stones in my bucket, i.e. quartz, aquamarine, citrine, garnet to name only a few. I normally am in and out of gem mines within 30 minutes. I enjoyed myself so much at Gem Valley that I was amazed when I noticed I'd been there for a few hours. On future vacations in the Jefferson area, I'm looking forward to my next visit to Gem Valley.
